Apparently, Linktree co-founder and CEO Alex Zaccaria did. Today, the Australia-based company announced a $110 million all equity round led by Index Ventures and Coatue Management, with participation from AirTree Ventures, Insight Partners, and Greenoaks. TECH: Irish Regulator Fines Facebook for Privacy Law Violations
Ireland’s privacy watchdog has fined Facebook’s parent company, Meta, 17 million euros, or about $19 million, for violating Europe’s privacy law. The regulator, the Data Protection Commission, has been investigating how Meta Platforms Inc. complied with the requirements of the law, known as General Data Protection Regulation, in how it handled personal data in 12 data breach notifications between June and December 2018. The agency said Tuesday, March 15, 2022 that it found that Meta didn’t have the right measures in place to show it could protect EU users’ data. Meta said the fine is about record keeping practices from 2018 that it has since updated, not a failure to protect people’s information.
ART: PLINFT – A Global Celebration of NFT Culture
Nicolas Roope, founder of new NFT platform - Plinft debuted their launch event last week in Manhattan’s Times Square, where artworks and NFT collections were displayed on a digital screen during a 15-minute show. The highly visual event drew on a “fractionalised” model – in other words, the slot was divided among exhibitors, meaning each artwork had a brief airtime of roughly 1 second, in turn lowering the cost per exhibit. Roughly 500 artists had their work showcased individually.
ART: Programmed Animations by Etienne Jacob

CULTURE: Hoard of the rings: ‘lost’ scripts for BBC Tolkien drama discovered
An Oxford Academic has discovered original scripts from a 1950s BBC audio drama, the first ever dramatisation of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. While the recordings are believed to be destroyed, the scripts (with annotations by Tolkien himself) have recently resurfaced, to the excitement of many scholars. Stuart Lee’s discovery will feature in ‘The Great Tales Never End: Essays in Memory of Christopher Tolkien’, a book co-edited by Richard Ovenden, Oxford University’s Bodley’s librarian, and Catherine McIlwaine, Tolkien archivist at the Bodleian Libraries.
